My Story:
I was a mess. Not only was I HUGE, but suffering from Diabetes Type 2, GERDS, arthritis in my knees and a breathing disorder related to Sleep Apnea. The breathing issue kept me from EVER getting to sleep and after 2 weeks of no sleep whatsoever, I ended up in the emergency room where I honestly thought I was going to die. Very shaken by the event, I went on Atkins and started a very simple exercise program of walking (I couldn’t afford a health club membership, so this had to suffice). I started by barely making it to the end of the street and back, and have now increased my daily walks to between 4 and 8 miles a day, with serious hill climbs in the middle of it. I have SO much energy! My weight loss was so rapid that my GP became very concerned and said it was probably due to Diabetes related issues or even perhaps a tumor. He sent me to an Endocrinologist where it was found that not only was I losing weight in a healthy fashion, but I kicked the diabetes altogether!! My A1C levels are perfectly normal and he noted in my medical records that I’m not even “Pre-Diabetic”. Since then, the breathing issue, GERDS and the knee pain has disappeared. Not only do I feel great, but the positive comments about how I look have been very encouraging. I now have a waist measurement that I haven’t had since college, and it is fun to shop for clothes again. Thank you Atkins for saving my life!
