DIRECTIONS
- Cut chard stems crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces. Cut leaves in half lengthwise, stack them and cut crosswise into 2-inch pieces.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring, until just fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add chard stems; cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until crisp-tender, about 4 minutes.
- Add chard leaves in batches, tossing to coat; season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook, stirring once, until stems are tender and leaves are wilted, 4 to 5 minutes.
