Why You Should Ditch the Fad Diets

February 20, 2015

Over the years I’ve seen many fad diets come and then go away just as quickly. Some of these crazy diets even have told us to ditch eating food altogether and urged us to replace all our meals with vanilla shakes or to drink water with lemon & cayenne pepper for weeks on end. And believe me I’ve tried them all!Over 20 years ago, UCLA had a diet plan of protein powder, which I was meant to be on for six months, but bailed after only six weeks! The plain truth is that these fad diets are not sustainable and will leave you feeling hungry all the time.

However, the one thing that has worked for ME has been sticking to a low-carb plan like Atkins. My addiction to breads and sugars was slowing killing me, but now my body functions so much better now that I don’t have all that junk inside me. Also, I don’t feel the need to binge or cheat because I am constantly satisfied.

I’ve learned that the best solution for long-term weight loss is a healthy diet and exercise plan that is EASY to maintain. No matter where I am or what I’m doing, I am able to stick to the Atkins 40 plan. The flexibility of the plan will be key to your success. So please, ditch the fad diets and find a realistic nutrition plan that will make you healthy and happy for the long run!
